A third section of Terminal 5 has recently opened at Heathrow Airport, providing British Airways passengers improved facilities and additional space. Built at a cost of £340 million the satellite terminal, known as T5C, is expected to provide smooth services to an additional three million customers.

Heathrow's new Terminal T5CPassengers accessing T5C will be able to enter aircraft through an "air bridge" rather than a bus.

Andy Lord, director of operations at British Airways, said: "Terminal 5 has transformed our ability to offer the very highest standards of customer service which our passengers rightly expect for punctuality, baggage handling and relaxing before their flight. We hope that T5C will improve our overall performance even further."

There are 12 boarding gates at the new terminal, eight of which are designed to meet the needs of the Airbus 380S, which British Airways will introduce from early 2013.

Last month, Heathrow Airport also saw Air India move from its location in Terminal 3 to Terminal 4, which has recently been refurbished.
