New Delhi: The Airports Authority Employees' Union (AAEU) on Monday deferred its strike scheduled for Tuesday following a meeting with union civil aviation minister Praful Patel.

Patel along with senior officials of the aviation ministry and the Airports Authority of India met representatives of the AAEU here in New Delhi and discussed the demands of the AAI employees.

''A number of issues, including the closure of Bangalore and Hyderabad airports raised by the union representatives, were discussed. It has been decided that the ministry will look into these matters in detail and another round of discussion will be held with the union representatives in the near future,'' said an official release.

For now, the strike has been deferred and a second round of talks will take place on 10 March.
