Regional carrier, Paramount Airways, to add routes, increase frequencies

Chennai: Madurai-based Paramount Airways, an all-business class airline, has said that it is planning to add new routes on its destination network. The additions will increase the number of flights the airline operates from 62 a day to 66.
The ramp up will take place over the coming weeks.
The carrier, a regional service provider that operates in the southern part of the country, will now introduce non-stop services on the Bangalore-Vishakapatnam and Chennai-Vishakapatnam routes.It will add a daily service on the Chennai-Tiruchirapalli route and double frequencies on the Chennai-Tiruvananthapuram route.
Speaking to the media, M Thiagarajan, managing director, Paramount Airways, said that the carrier was somewhat better insulated than the rest of the industry, and not affected as much as the rest frrom rising fuel costs.
He said that Paramount was able to increase fares and still maintain market shares and high loads.
