Bombardier opens first service centre for business jets on Indian subcontinent

Mumbai: Bombardier announced it has added two more service facilities for Challenger and Global business jets, bringing its total number of aircraft-support facilities around the world to 44. Of those, seven are OEM service centres and 37 are authorized service or line-maintenance facilities.

Air Works India Engineering becomes the first Bombardier line-maintenance facility on the Indian subcontinent, located at Mumbai International Airport. The firm has more than 55 years'' experience serving India''s general aviation operators and functions from a 3,065-square-meter (33,000 square foot) facility.

The facility began accepting Bombardier aircraft in September.

The second service facility, Air Four, at Milan, Italy''s Linate Airport, already supports Learjets and now acts as an authorized service facility for Challenger and Global jets. Formerly Eurojet Italia, Air Four offers 2,137 square meters (23,000 square meters) of hangar space. It has worked on Learjets since 1998 and began accepting Bombardier wide-body business jets in October.
