Innocean launches sports marketing vertical

Ad agency Innocean Worldwide has launched its sports marketing vertical in India and appointed Tarun Chaudhry to head the division. Chaudhry joins from Dentsu India where he was the director, sports marketing.
The announcement follows Innocean's anchor client Hyundai Motors signing up with International Cricket Council (ICC) as the official car partner till 2015.
''Innocean will bring to India its global insights and learnings for the benefit of all their clients, especially pertinent to leveraging sporting events and creating brand engagement platforms out of them,'' said Vivek Srivastava, joint managing director, Innocean India.
Innocean has earlier managed the integration of brands such as Hyundai and Kia with major sporting events like FIFA, UEFA, Australian Open among others. ''I see tremendous potential for leveraging the existing global tie-ups in various mainstream sports and emerging fields,'' said Chaudhry.
The agency has rolled out a series of consumer engagements for Hyundai for the World Cup. Among them are a Hyundai Cricket anthem, cricket fan parks and an engagement tour spanning all Hyundai dealerships in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.
''It's a hyper active phase for us with Cricket World Cup related activities panning out nationally,'' Chaudhry added.
Chaudhry is a post graduate degree in sports administration and technology from International Academy of Sports Science & Technology Lausanne, Switzerland.
