MEC wins the media mandate for DNA
08 Mar 2011
Diligent Media-owned English news daily, DNA (Daily News & Analysis) has brought on board MEC as its media AoR. The appointment was without any formal pitch.
DNA, which has a presence in Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur, has opted for a media-buying agency for the first time since it was launched in 2005.
Gautam Dalal, vice president, marketing, DNA, said, ''The agency has an excellent track record. With their 'active engagement' philosophy, we will be able to engage and interact with our audiences in a unique way. Their buying clout will help us do this in the most cost-efficient way.''
The creative duties for DNA are handled by Scarecrow Communications, which had won the business in January. (See: DNA appoints Scarecrow Communications as its creative partner)
''This is the first time that we will be handling a publication group as a client. DNA has just launched a multi-media 'India Positive' campaign. A lot more is expected soon,'' said Manjiri Kamat, managing partner, MEC.
Diligent Media is a joint venture between the Dainik Bhaskar Group and Zee Group, has a presence in Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur.
