India leads in Asia in mobile advertising: survey

Market research by mobile advertising network InMobi, in partnership with comScore, has revealed high levels of mobile advertising acceptance in India, with over 72 per cent of Indian consumers comfortable with mobile advertising, and over 50 per cent ready to receive personalised advertisements.
Nokia dominates the global share of impressions, with about 47 per cent while Samsung and Sony Ercisson rank second and third respectively, the survey revealed.
The trends in the Asia Pacific region are similar, with Nokia at 61 per cent of global impressions and Sony Ericsson a distant second at 14 per cent.
Together iPhone iOS and Android OS have a joint share of 11 per cent globally, and are gaining at the cost of current leaders Nokia and Symbian, who together have a 48 per cent market share, the survey found.
In India, Nokia dominates both the OS and manufacturer share, the study reported.
Nokia's OS platforms, including Symbian, have about 65 per cent of the OS share of available ad impressions, and almost 65 per cent of the manufacturer's share. Samsung ranks second at 17 per cent manufacturer's share.
