Centers for Medical Innovation is a Germany-based bioscience company that first began operations in October 1997.
The company is engaged in the development and commercialisation of plant-based prescription therapeutic drugs for the treatment of chronic human diseases with unmet or under-served medical needs.
Its disease targets include neuro-degenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease, infectious disease, primary chronic hepatitis B and C, and inflammatory diseases.
CMI's product portfolio comprises a select late-stage development candidates with substantial prior human use.
The company works by combining a team of seasoned and experienced managers who provide CMI with all the core competencies required, together with an external network of renowned research institutes and leading international scientists in all relevant disciplines. They are supported by scientific advisory boards.
CMI is a venture capitalist-backed firm and is working on five plant-based products. These products are currently in phase 2 or phase 3 clinical trials.
