Acer India enters storage solutions segment

Bangalore: Acer India has announced its entry into storage solutions with Acer Storage Centre (ASC), its storage networking infrastructure solution. According to Acer India, ASC is a comprehensive solution for storage virtualisation, provisioning and management targeted at small, medium and large enterprises. The entry level storage solution will be available from Rs 10 lakh onwards.
In addition to basic storage consolidation, ASC also offers advanced features such as active-active failover, synchronous mirroring, remote replication, snapshot copy and zero impact backup enabler thus making it an enterprise ready solution. "Acer is providing cutting edge flexible storage solutions with several key benefits that can be customised to meet the specific needs of customers," says Harish Kohli, general manager-sales and marketing, Enterprise Product group. "Storage solutions will definitely play a crucial role in our business strategy in India," he says and adds, "As a first step, we are looking to create a sound foothold in this market segment."
Acer India will train some of its existing partners and appoint new, national and regional partners with storage domain expertise and implementation knowledge as part of its storage solutions channel strategy. They will be required to undergo intensive training sessions and only certified partners will comprise the channel network.
