Acer to offer its notebooks on rent to Indian Companies

Bangalore: Acer India has introduced a notebook rental scheme in India to enable companies to rent its high-end notebooks for fixed tenures. Realising that Indian companies are increasingly replacing their desktops with notebooks for their line functionaries, the company is offering the top of the line models from its TravelMate series for quarterly rentals of Rs 86.21 per quarter per thousand.
Among the top three Indian notebook vendors in India, Acer India has adopted this route to catapult itself as the market leader in the notebook category by targeting the corporate segment with its top-of-the-line notebooks and accessories
The company says that it has incorporated some of Acer's latest technology breakthroughs into these notebooks, such as three dimensional signals with multi-antennas for stronger connectivity, to improve wireless performance between 20 and 40 per cent on the outer limits of coverage.
Acer has also partnered with CISCO for providing compatible wireless LAN. All notebooks are are WiFi certified and have card reader support for multimedia cards. Its TravelMate 4601WLMi features GridVista, which enables multi-tasking with upto eight applications..
Announcing this strategy, Harish Kohli, general manager, sales and marketing of Acer India's enterprise products group, which generates around two-thirds of the company's business in the country, said, "We are packaging our notebooks in such a way that the product does not just act as a system to work on, but helps in efficient staff productivity. All notebooks are bundled with the Acer Signal Up Technology and eManager specifically devised for the modern Indian corporate executive. With these products we hope executives will see a marked increase in productivity."
