Air India building a European hub for itself

Air India''s attempts at setting up a European hub for itself were progressing
well, and a dialogue in this regard with different alliances was on, according
to National Aviation Company of India, chairman, V Thulasidas. He was speaking
to reporters at the Netaji Shubas Chandra Bose International Airport after flagging
off the maiden Kolkata-Singapore Air India Express flight on Sunday.Thulsidas mentioned that passengers from eight major Indian cities, including Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore would be able to access the facilities of offered by a European hub, as and when it came about.
Air
India authorities were currently looking at the facilities offered by different
airports, along with the terms and conditions offered by various alliances in
Europe, he said. According to Thulasidas, facilities at Copenhagen, Vienna, Munich,
Amsterdam and along with some other European destinations were being looked at.
