Telecom major bags Brand Leadership in Telecom, Marketing Campaign and Marketing Professional of the Year awards
Aircel was honored at the World Brand Congress 2009 with three prestigious awards - Brand Leadership in Telecom, Marketing Campaign and Marketing Professional of the Year.
Accepting the Brand Leadership award and the Marketing Campaign Award, Gurdeep Singh, COO, Aircel said, ''We really feel honored to have been chosen for the Global awards for Brand excellence 2009 and thank the respected jury for this recognition. Aircel, a part of Maxis Communications Berhad, Malaysia, is India's fifth largest GSM mobile service provider with a subscriber base of over 25 million and is the fastest growing mobile operator in the country. Besides enjoying leader position in Tamil Nadu, Assam, North-East and Chennai, Aircel is now present in 18 telecom circles and has adequate spectrum secured for all the remaining circles.
Incidentally, Aircel was the first to break its advertising campaign on Facebook, which created a huge buzz amongst the youth, making it the most searched brand on Google. Aircel is also associated with the IPL, as the sole sponsor of the Chennai Super Kings team which lends the brand great top-of-the-mind recall. Aircel is on its way up as it offers fresh networks, simplified tariff plans and refreshing value added customer services.
