Airtel Champions League T20, 2010 scores a hit with audiences: TAM ratings

Airtel Champions League Twenty20 TV ratings have seen a 44 per cent increase over last year, as per TAM data released for the first three matches.
The first three matches of the tournament generated an average rating of 2.6 this year as compared to 1.8 last year.
The inaugural match between Mumbai Indians and Highveld Lions garnered a peak rating of 4.93 and an overall rating of 3.92 as compared to 2.7, which the first match of 2009 edition generated.
Overall, the first three matches of the tournament have generated a reach of 36.6 million (TG: CS, 4+) which is 22 per cent higher as compared to last year.
The championship is being broadcast on Star Cricket, the 24 hour cricket channel from ESPN STAR Sports. The first match of the tournament was also broadcast concurrently on Star Sports.
Kids channels, Disney and Disney XD were also given special rights to showcase live the first match of all the three IPL teams participating in the tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, ESPN Star Sports' spokesperson, said, ''With matches getting more exciting, we expect that the traction on ground will build up even further.
We have also decided to air the remaining IPL team matches on Star Sports to give viewers an additional platform to consume such high quality cricketing content.''
