Alstom Projects bags Rs373 crore contract from BHEL

Alstom Projects India has bagged a contract worth Rs373 crore for the supply of boiler components to Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), the company said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The contract is for components meant for BHEL's 2x800MW supercritical coal fired power plant at Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
Earlier in 2005 Alstom had worked out a partnership with BHEL for providing technical assistance (license) for product design, as well as an agreement defining the industrial scope for future boiler contracts.
Alstom in India has full capabilities in engineering, manufacturing, project management and supply of power generation equipment, while world wide it has supplied over 25 per cent of the world's installed power generation capacity.
APIL has a turnover of Rs2,290 crore, also has a significant presence in the transport sector in India providing railway equipment and technology solutions.
The company was recently awarded a Rs265 crore contract from Lanco Infratech to to install a new power plant (Teesta Hydroelectric Project Stage VI) on the Teesta river in Sikkim (See : Alstom Projects bags Rs265 crore power plant project from Lanco Infratech Ltd).
