28 Jan 2009
The Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (RADAG) on Monday opened a state-of-the art hospital - the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Research Centre (KDAH) - in the Mumbai suburb of Andheri.
The 730-bed hospital boasts of the latest in cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art IT systems. It also has a 40-slice PET CT scanner that combines computed tomography and positron emission tomography technologies into a single machine.
KDAH, located in the Four Bungalows area of Andheri, has over 100 outpatient departments.
Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan inaugurated the KDAH, the first major hospital to come up in the western suburbs.
The hospital offers doctors and patients cutting edge diagnostic and surgical solutions as well as the latest in IT systems, including a patient traffic management solution as well as intelligent/integrated building management system (IBMS).
The hospital would prove a ''boon'' to many patients in the western suburbs who have to seek advanced, high-quality medical care either at Lilavati or Asian Heart Institute, or go all the way to south Mumbai to hospitals like Jaslok, Breach Candy, Hinduja or Saifee Hospital.
Kokilaben, widow of group founder Dhirubhai Ambani, donated Rs75 crore to the 10 lakh sq foot hospital, which was built to celebrate her 75th birth year.
