Apple's iPad Mini to be on shelves on 2 November: reports
18 Oct 2012
The smaller tablet from Apple that people had been looking forward to, could be in the hands of consumers from 2 November.
That is what is being talked about unofficially and given Apple's record of releasing new products on a Friday, roughly 10 days after unveiling it at a hype-filled media event, it would well turn out that way.
Apple has already announced and sent out invites for a media event on 23 October, which is expected to be centred on a new iPad with a 7.8 inch-display that could be priced really cheap at $249.
Meanwhile, the holiday shopping season looks all set to be the showdown between tablets, with Microsoft's Surface to arrive in a few weeks and reports of an ultra-cheap new Google Nexus tablet on the way.
Microsoft's Surface, has an already-sold-out model at $499, due for a release on 26 October while Google also has their $250 Nexus 7 tablet available, with a $99 model said to be in the offing.
Best Buy, meanwhile, plans to launch its Insignia Flex tablet on 11 November. The device is expected to be offered in the price range between $239 and $259.
