The world's largest producer of denims, Ahmedabad-based Arvind Ltd, plans to double its turnover to Rs8,000 crore by 2014-15, besides opening more than 90 exclusive stores across India this year.

Sanjay Lalbhai, chairman and managing director, Arvind Ltd, the flagship of the Lalbhai group, said the company plans to spend almost Rs100 crore in opening the new outlets, called 'Arvind Experience Stores.' The company aims to raise revenues from direct sales to customers to Rs1,000 crore by 2014-15, from Rs600 crore at present, he adds.

Lalbhai was inaugurating the company's first such exclusive store in Gujarat at Vadodara. It operates seven such stores in Andhra Pradesh and plans to have in all 100 exclusive stores across the country by the end of the current fiscal.

The futuristic store will feature all of Arvind's products and offer, besides ready-made brands, customised tailoring for customers. In Vadodara, the 2,000 sq ft store also stocks other international brands.

According to Lalbhai, customers will also be able to get customised washed jeans at its 'Arvind Denim Labs, which will be there in the exclusive stores. ''Every denim order will be made in Arvind's factory exact to the customer's specifications, with each and every detail customised to their preferences,'' said Lalbhai.

The stores will also feature Studio Arvind, a customised tailoring offering, which will not only provide customised garments, but will also offer different styles and fits for each category.
