Ashok Leyland appoints Vinod Dasari as COO

Vinod K Dasari (39) has joined Ashok Leyland as their chief operating officer. He will head the company's manufacturing, strategic sourcing and corporate quality engineering divisions.
The joint managing director of Cummins India Limited until recently, Dasari is a post graduate in engineering management (MEM) from the McCormick School of Engineering and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, both at NorthWestern University.
Dasari started his career with the General Electric Company in 1986 and on completing his MBA joined Timken USA in 1992. In 1998, he was appointed managing director of Timken India. He served as the president of the Global Railroad business of Timken USA for two years, before joining Cummins in 2002.
