Audi launches A8 L at Rs89 lakh

German automaker, Audi on Friday unveiled the latest version of its super luxury sedan, A8 L at Rs89 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The new A8 L features a long wheelbase and comes with a 4.2 litre petrol engine, which delivers 372 HP power. A8 will be competing against models like the Merecedes S-Class and BMW 7-Series.
Audi, which ranks third after BMW and Mercedes in the luxury segment, said it is planning to roll out more models in the country. ''The Indian market is expanding rapidly and Audi wants to enhance its product line-up to grow exponentially in the market,'' Audi India MD, Michael Perschke said.
The Volksawgen Group company said it was aiming to sell a minimum of 4,500 units, a 50-per cent growth over last year, when it sold 3,003 units in India.
''By 2015 we aim to be the number one in the Indian luxury car market,'' Perschke said about the Audi's future ambitions in the country.
Audi's range in India includes the A4 and A6 sedans and Q5 and Q7 SUVs.
