28 Nov 2009
Aiming to expand its portfolio in executive motorcycles segment, Bajaj Auto will launch its popular Pulsar in the sub-150 cc category early next month.
"The all new sub-150cc Pulsar will be launched on 9 December. The brand task now is to invest in category creation, thereby increasing the size of the sports segment," Bajaj Auto said in a statement.
The company said the new Pulsar will sport a new design and a power train. It did not divulge details like the expected price of the new Pulsar.
But it is expected that the model will be priced to take on Honda's CBF Stunner and other models offered by its rivals in this segment.
The new Pulsar will be powered by a 135cc engine and Bajaj has just launched a teaser website and a video of the new Bajaj Pulsar bike.
Although details of the bike have yet not been revealed by the company, reports say the bike would be equipped with a four-stroke, air-cooled, DTS-Si engine, with a maximum power output of 10 bhp@ 7500 rpm and a maximum torque of 11.58 Nm@ 5000 rpm, which is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission.
