Bajaj Auto, India's second-biggest two-wheeler maker by sales, on Monday unveiled the Pulsar 200NS, a fully revamped version of its popular Pulsar series.
To be priced under Rs1 lakh, the 200NS is being projected as a ''middle-class sports bike'', Bajaj Auto managing director Rajiv Bajaj told newspersons while showing off the new bike at a function in Mumbai.
The model will have a cutting-edge engine which sets new benchmarks in performance, emissions, and fuel efficiency, Bajaj Auto's chief technology officer Abraham Joseph said.
''The Pulsar 200NS is a completely new product … it boasts a new technology called triple spark engine, which will take the DTS-i (digital twin spark ignition) technology launched in 2003 to another level with a SOHC 4-valve triple spark engine controlled by an advanced electronic control unit for better performance,'' he said.
The bike has liquid cooling and a six-speed gear box.
