BBC World News in a new package: Asia Pacific the center point

BBC World News is all set for a revamp. It plans to introduce a new line up with the launch of six new programmes.
The broadcaster said that it is is launching two premier news programmes, "GMT with George Alagiah" and "Impact Asia with Mishal Husain" aimed especially at its Asia Pacific audiences as part of a new look and schedule, set to air on the channel from 1 February.
BBC plans to include a wide variety in its line up with documentaries, travel related broadcasts, current affairs and lifestyle programmes.
The World News Today with Zeinab Badawi, Business Edition with Tanya Beckett and The Hub with Nik Gowing also feature the new additions. Asia Today will feature the background stories behind important news.
Interstingly, viewers will also be able to interact with the presenters via a dedicated facebook page.
According to Andrew Roy, head, news, BBC World News, the changes are in accordance with the viewer expectations. The broadcasts will be aided with on-air graphic packages. Interaction between the viewers and presenters via dedicated pages on facebook and twitter is also facilitated.
The programmes will be supported by new on-air graphic packages and will broadcast from BBC World News' redesigned studio based in London.
