BBC World News ranked No 1 English-language news channel in India

UK broiadcaster BBC's Indian arm today said that BBC World News has been ranked as the top English news channel in India among affluent viewers, quoting the latest Ipsos PAX survey for the second financial quarter 2012.
"The channel has reached this position by beating out competition including CNN, CNBC TV18, NDTV 24x7, NDTV Profit, CNN-IBN and Bloomberg UTV," it said in a media statement.
The PAX results also show that when compared against both international and domestic news channels in India, BBC World News is the No 1 news channel among India's top executives, business decision makers, investors, travelers1, also among tech-savvy young Indians2.
Impressively, BBC World News is also shown to be growing its viewership year on year among opinion leaders3, travellers and tech-savvy Indians. Among tech-savvy opinion leaders, BBC World News is increasing its market reach across the board with increases in daily, weekly and monthly viewing.

The Ipsos PAX study surveys international and local media consumption and product consumption among affluent adults and business professionals in the Indian cities of Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.
The latest survey covers Q3 2011 to Q2 2012.
