24 May 2013
BlackBerry has launched equated monthly installment (EMI) schemes for BlackBerry Z10, the smartphone that operates on its proprietary mobile operating system (OS) BlackBerry 10 (BB10), and BlackBerry Curve 9220.
BlackBerry Z10 is now available for an EMI of Rs4,799 per month for nine months on credit card purchases. It can be purchased on Axis Bank, Citibank, HDFC bank, HSBC, ICICI Bank, Kotak, SBI Card and Standard Chartered credit cards, the company said in a statement.
The Canada-based company, formerly Research In Motion (RIM), has also launched a similar scheme for BlackBerry Curve 9220. Under the scheme, customers can use their credit cards to buy the device through a monthly installment scheme of Rs 799 per month for 12 months.
BlackBerry, which discarded its RIM name replacing it with the name of its product, had launched BB10 globally in January this year.
The plan would be rolled out across 3,000 BlackBerry outlets by this weekend and will be available in additional 400 outlets by next week. Both the schemes come with no down payment, processing fees or interests.
BlackBerry has also launched a 1 GB per month data plan at Rs 999 per year for Idea Cellular customers across eight circles. The circles are Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh, it said.
