BlackBerry offering $100 worth of apps by way of outage compensation

BlackBerry is offering $100 worth of apps to users that were hit by the recent service outage that left millions of BlackBerry users high and dry for up to three days last week.
According to BlackBerry maker Research in Motion, it would offer a $100 credit for select apps in its online store.
Whether this would placate users, though remains unclear.
According to analysts RIM's challenges were bigger and the offer would only interest people who saw value in it.
Also the relative lack of appealing apps for BlackBerry were a major problem for both RIM's apology and the company's fortunes in general.
RIM listed only 12 apps in its announcement that would be available at no cost though it said it would make more available before the downloading period starts tomorrow.
According to industry experts the offer could be expected to lure people to BlackBerry App World and have a look, but the limited number of software offerings might be somewhat off-putting.
