Blue Star, the air conditioning and commercial refrigeration company, as part of its environment commitment, is actively promoting its consulting services for the ratings of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) developed by the Green Building Council of USA.
LEED is one of the most popular international rating systems to certify new as well as existing commercial buildings. The system was developed by Green Building Council of USA, and has also been adopted by Indian Green Building Council with suitable modifications to Indian conditions.
Blue Star has been involved with LEED consultancy services for over two years and has been steadily increasing its competence in this specialised area.
The refrigeration and airconditioning company claims the largest pool of LEED accredited professionals (LEED APs) in the country who facilitate the certification of 'green' buildings under the LEED rating system.
The services offered under this include LEED facilitation, energy simulation and third party commissioning. With as many as seven LEED APs and a host of green building projects coupled with over six decades of experience, Blue Star is uniquely positioned to meet the needs of customers who want to build green, says a press release from the company.
Blue Star is also an active player in the energy management business. It has over 390 engineers and 30 BEE accredited auditors making it one of the largest energy service companies (ESCOs) in the country.
CRISIL-BEE has accredited Blue Star with the highest grade amongst ESCOs, viz Grade 1, indicating 'very high' ability of the company to undertake energy efficiency projects. According to CRISIL, the major strengths of Blue Star included an impressive track record of managing HVAC projects and a strong organisational structure and competent team.
