Bosch Siemens Home Appliances to set up base in India, expand business

The largest manufacturer of home appliances in Europe BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH, one of the leading global applaince makers, today announced the launch of the Bosch range of home appliances in India, with a range of washing machines, dryers and dishwashers.
Bosh Siemens is setting up a white goods manufacturing facility near Chennai. The new plant will initially manufacture washing machines while the products will be made available across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Delhi to begin with, the company's managing director and chief executive Marc Hantscher, said.
The Tamil Nadu government, he said, has allotted 44 acres of land near Chennai to Bosch Siemens for setting up the factory.
The company has also set up a leader network of around 120 dealers across the southern states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh as also the national capital of Delhi, he said.
Currently, only washing machines, dryers and dishwashers will be available.
Marc Hantscher, Managing Director and CEO of BSH Home Appliances Pvt. Ltd. in Mumbai, said, plans to launch its range of refrigerators from January 2012. By then, the company also will expand its dealer network in India to over 800.
