Canon announces India strategy

Mumbai: Canon India Pvt. Limited yesterday announced their strategy to drive the consumer digital revolution in India. As part of the strategy, Canon unveiled 20 products for consumers and SoHo (small office home office) users in India, designed to easily bring digital photos and video to life in new and enriching ways and enrich the home film/theater experience with the launch of their new generation of digital projectors.
Additionally, Canon is bolstering its Indian marketing efforts with an investment of USD1.5 million in advertising, market research, retail expansion, in-store branding, training programs for partners aimed at assisting partners and conveying to consumers how Canon products work better together - from capture to share to print.
The consumer strategy is in addition to the company's overall R&D plans aimed at delivering technology that is simple, fun to use, and works better together. Canon spends more than 8% of its revenues on R&D to bring to consumers sharper and clearer image quality in digital cameras, true-to-life colors and lower printing costs in photo printers through its proprietary technologies.
Canon's range of 20 digital imaging products unveiled yesterday includes 7 digital cameras, 2 all-in-one photo printers for SoHo users, the company's first portable bluetooth mobile printer, 1 bubblejet printer for professional colors, photo media paper for quality prints, 3 digital video camcorders for making movies, 1 home theatre projector, 1 projector for the office, 2 fax machines and 1 personal family copier.
