CRISIL's Roopa Kudva asssumes additional charge as S&P region head for south Asia

Mumbai: Financial market intelligence provider Standard & Poor's today promoted its Indian subsidiary CRISIL's managing director and CEO, Roopa Kudva as Region Head for South Asia, S&P.
The new responsibility in addition to Kudva's current responsibilities as MD and CEO of CRISIL She will also join Standard & Poor's Asia-Pacific executive committee and will assume her additional responsibilities with immediate effect.
Kudva's enhanced role follows the resignation of R Ravimohan as Standard & Poor's representative for South and Southeast Asia and as non-executive chairman of CRISIL's board, who after 15 years with the Indian rating agency and S&P, is leaving at the end of August 2009.
His successor at CRISIL and S&P will be appointed at a later date.
Kudva joined CRISIL in 1992 and was appointed head of its ratings business in 2000, before becoming MD and CEO in 2007.
Kudva is the recipient of several awards and recognitions for her business leadership and has been a member of various policy committees and working groups instituted by the Reserve Bank of India and the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
Kudva holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
