Delphi to supply driver information systems for Mahindra & Mahindra's Ingenio
By Our Corporate Bureau | 03 Aug 2007
Automotive ancillaries maker Delphi today announced that it would supply driver information systems to Mahindra & Mahindra for its Ingenio model vehicles starting in 2008.
"This business award from Mahindra & Mahindra, one of India's top automakers, is significant for two reasons," said Jugal Vijayvargiya, Delphi Controls & Security executive.
"First, it demonstrates the competitiveness of our display business and positions us well to continue the global expansion of the product line. More important, our first win with Mahindra highlights Delphi's commitment to building our presence in India, and our ability to drive growth through strong relationships across Asia," Vijayvargiya added.
Delphi driver information systems provide information about vehicle systems and the external environment to help keep drivers informed and warns them of potential hazards. These sophisticated systems are capable of alerting drivers to unclosed doors, low tire pressure, low fuel, and many other important items that create a safer driving experience.
Delphi is leveraging its capability from the Bangalore Technical Centre as well as North America Technical Centres to design the product for Mahindra & Mahindra.
