Delta Air Lines ropes in Taj Hotels as its partner

Chennai: Delta Air Lines has roped in Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces as a partner in its frequent flier programme, SkyMiles. Effective December 1, 2002, SkyMiles members will earn 500 miles for each qualifying stay at participating.

Taj Luxury and Taj International Hotels located throughout India and other parts of Asia, as well as Africa and Europe Taj Business and Taj Leisure Hotels will offer 250 miles for each qualifying stay.

To launch the partnership, Taj will offer SkyMiles members double miles for qualifying stays worldwide from January 1 through March 31, 2003.

According to Delta Air Lines general manager-India, Dieter Hofele, “This partnership provides our SkyMiles members with an additional opportunity to earn miles while enjoying superior service and a unique lodging experience when their travels take them within India or other Taj locations.“

Delta offers daily intercontinental service non-stop from Mumbai to Paris -CDG, Delta's European hub with onward connections on nonstop Delta flights to the airlines' US hub in Atlanta in addition to New York/JFK and Cincinatti. Customers may also connect through Paris to the Mediterranean, Middle East, North Africa or Asia using the partners of Delta's global alliance, SkyTeam.

Hofele adds, “With our daily non-stop flight from Mumbai to Paris, and our code share service operated by Air France from Delhi to Paris, SkyMiles members have a convenient gateway to Europe and on to the US.“
