ECIL bags EC order for supply of electronic voting machines

Says ECIL technical director Wing Commander (retired) K S Chandrasekhar: The EVM concept that evolved at ECIL has been playing an important role in fair conduct of election across the country. The success of these machines is evident from the large-scale deployment and continuous use of these EVMs in the Lok Sabha polls. Incidentally, India is the only country that has designed and used EVM in conducting elections and several countries across the world have shown interest in procuring the EVMs from us."
With this order, the total number of EVMs supplied to the commission since 1989 will touch 4.5 lakh.
