Emirates-CAE Flight Training orders two CAE flight simulators

CAE, formerly Canadian Aviation Electronics, has signed a contract to design and manufacture two full-flight simulators (FFS) for Emirates-CAE Flight Training (ECFT) valued at over C$25 million ($24.98 million) at list prices. This brings the total FFS sales that CAE has announced in 2007-08 to 18.
ECFT is expanding its training facility in Dubai, adding a CAE 7000 Series Bombardier Global Express and a CAE 5000 Series Hawker Beechcraft Hawker 800 XPi full-flight simulator. This is part of CAE's broader business aviation training network expansion.
Both simulators feature the CAE True electric motion system, as well as CAE's next-generation visual solution, including the new CAE Tropos-6000 visual system and liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS) projectors. The FFS for the Hawker 800 XPi is the first of its kind designed and manufactured for the aircraft type. CAE launched the new 5000 Series FFS earlier this year.
Emirates-CAE Flight Training is located close to Dubai International Airport and is jointly operated by Emirates Airlines and CAE. Approved by both the JAA and the FAA, the facility offers training to commercial airlines and business aircraft operators in West Asia, Europe, Africa and Asia.
The 14-bay centre already houses 10 full-flight simulators, including two for the Airbus A320 / Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJs), one for the Airbus A330/340, one for the Boeing 777, two for the Boeing 737 NG / Boeing Business Jets (BBJs), one for the Gulfstream IV and the Gulfstream V/550, one for the Hawker 800/800XP and a Bell 412 helicopter simulator.
The new Global Express and Hawker 800 XPi FFSs, which will be delivered to ECFT in the second half of 2009, after which the training centre will have a total of 12 CAE-built FFSs in operation.
