Fiat unveils new premium hatchback segment car Punto Evo in Jaipur

Fiat Group Automobiles India Private Limited unveiled its new premium hatchback segment car Punto Evo in Jaipur yesterday at the company's showroom in the city.
Saurabh Srivastava, Fiat's vice-president, sales, said the car was designed and engineered to suit Indian roads and the company expected a good response.
He added, the car had many first-in-segment features and the best-in-class ground clearance.
He described it as a dramatic evolution of the earlier version sporting the design theme of dynamism and harmony. He added, it was designed and engineered for India, catering to the needs of today's customers.
The car is being offered at a starting price of Rs4.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Jaipur).
Fiat has launched the newer Punto version, the Punto Evo in petrol as well as diesel variants, reported. The Punto Evo comes in four trims namely - Active, Dynamic, Emotion and Sport.
The new Fiat Punto Evo is powered by a 1.3 litre multi-jet diesel engine with two different outputs – one generates about 90 Bhp of power, whereas the other generates about 75 Bhp of power.
The petrol version is powered by 1.2 litre and 1.4 litre engines generating about 67 Bhp and 89 bhp of power.
The Sport trim would only be available as a diesel variant, whereas the Active and Emotion trim would also be available with petrol variant. The Active, Dynamic and Emotion trims would be available with standard diesel engine, but additionally the Emotion variant shall also feature an optional 90 Bhp engine.
Fiat has chosen the name as 'Evo' as the term stands for 'Evolution' of the Punto hatchback. The overall body structure however, remained unchanged; even though considerable changes had been carried out on the car's front and rear section.
The Punto Evo sports all-new front fascia with a new, larger grille than its predecessor. The grille comes with rounded-off edges. A single chrome bar and chromed line running across the front, is complemented by the new sweptback headlamps. With the fog lamps getting large chromed surrounds, new multi-spoke alloys and chrome door handles are on offer with the top-spec model.
The car's rear section comes with revised taillights and new stop lamps.
