Flipkart's Myntra new year sale to see up to 80% discounts
31 Dec 2015
Online fashion marketplace Myntra, a unit of Flipkart, has announced an ''End of Reason Sale'' (EORS) with discounts running as deep as 80 per cent. The company said it expects its two-day sale on 2 and 3 January to see a tenfold jump in its daily revenue.
''Our End of Reason Sale is the biggest shopping carnival for fashion in the country.
More than 7.6 million Myntra customers will get to pick up bargains across Indian and international brands. EORS is really about starting the new year looking good and with a new wardrobe to match. During the two-day sale, we expect to serve over 700,000 customers and the daily revenue rate to go up by as much as 10x,'' said chief executive Ananth Narayanan.
The company said over 2,000 national and global brands will participate in the two day sale. During the sale, it claimed, Myntra will be the first fashion retailer to launch the spring/summer 2016 collection for buyers in January itself. ''We are happy to announce the third edition of India's largest fashion sale. Through EORS we break away from the traditional end of season sale format which usually last for 6-7 weeks. In the span of just two days, shoppers can avail the best of fashion from the widest catalogue at amazing prices,'' said Prasad Kompalli, head of ecommerce patform, Myntra.
After going app only in May, Myntra re-launched its mobile website with limited access to lure customers in downloading their app for complete access such as buying the products.
