04 Feb 2009
Gartner Inc has announced the three finalists for the inaugural Gartner Wireless & Mobile Excellence Award. A team of Gartner analysts evaluated and selected three finalists based on how well they demonstrated excellence in their wireless and mobile initiatives.
The finalists are Anthony Marano Company, Coca Cola Enterprises and Royal Mail. Each finalist will present his case to attendees at the Gartner Wireless & Mobile Summit taking place on 23-25 February at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers in Chicago. The attendees' feedback as to which of the finalists they feel is the best example of wireless excellence will determine the winner. The winner will be announced during the conference.
"Mobile and wireless technologies are crucial for every organisation, but they must carefully choose and use the mobility solutions that will support their customers and employees. The goals, processes and metrics vary, as do the technologies used. Here are great examples of the lessons learned and the best practices as companies pursue their own successful mobility objectives," said John Girard, Gartner vice president and distinguished analyst and summit chair.
The Gartner Wireless & Mobile Summit offers new concepts and best practices to increase ROI on wireless investment, insights on the future of wireless, and unbiased perspectives on devices, systems, integration and the latest trends. Gartner analysts and solution providers will help unravel the tangle of multiple generations of wireless technologies, evaluate new approaches to teleworking, assess the role of core technologies such as MIDs, RFID, and IP telephony and make sense of the looming platform battles for smartphones, and more.
