Google acquires digital technology start-up FameBit

Alphabet Inc's Google yesterday said that it has acquired FameBit, a technology start-up that helps connect brands with stars on YouTube, Instagram and Twitter to create promotional content.
Google did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.
Founded in 2013 by David Kierzkowski and Agnes Kozera, and backed by by Los Angeles startup studio Science, Inc, helps FameBit makes it easy for brands to find and work with influential content creators.
The platform has helped brands and creators collaborate on more than to 25,000 branded videos generating over 2 billion minutes of watch time.
In a blogpost, Google's vice president of product management, Ariel Bardin, wrote that the deal will help broaden and accelerate the growth of influencer marketing … and the combination would help increase the number of branded content opportunities available, bringing more revenue to YouTube.
''We believe that Google's relationship with brands and YouTube's partnerships with creators, combined with FameBit's technology and expertise, will help increase the number of branded content opportunities available, bringing even more revenue into the online video community,'' Bardin wrote.
FameBit founders David Kierzkowski and Agnes Kozera said in a blogpost,''With Google's relationship with brands large and small, and YouTube's partnership with creators around the globe, we hope to connect even more brands to creators, engage more audiences, and make brand marketing more creative and authentic than ever.''
FameBit will remain a standalone operation for now, YouTube said in the blog post.
