Google makes fashion statement with Google Glass

Google has been in negotiations with Warby Parker, an e-commerce start-up company that sells trendy eyeglasses, to help out with the design of more fashionable frames, The New York Times quoted two unnamed people briefed on the negotiations who were not authorised to speak publicly because the partnership had not been made official, as saying.
Google and a number of other companies are said to be working on technologies like glasses and watches, an industry one would hardly associate with fashion though design has gone hand in hand with technology, with products like Apple's becoming fashion statements, wearable hardware akin to jewelry is an entirely different challenge
On Wednesday, Google started accepting applications to choose a small group of people to buy an early version of the glasses, called Google Glass, which it aims to sell Glass to the broader public this year, the report quoted two people briefed on the plans, as saying.
Meanwhile, a new promo video for its internet-connected for Google Glass gives potential early adopters a chance to buy the as yet unreleased product.
The video, posted on Wednesday, seeks to push the wearable technology as one of the biggest advancements in personal computing in many years.
The video shows people wearing the glasses while skydiving, riding a rollercoaster, skiing, and swinging on a trapeze, however, according to Tom Royal, editor of the London-based magazine Popular Science UK, the product would require a lot of investment and infrastructure.
