Google plans to launch a new product called Google Fit that would aggregate health data from various devices and apps, Forbes reported on Thursday.

Fit would use available APIs to pull biometric information together into one place, it remained unclear, however, whether it would be a standalone app or part of the Android OS.

The reports follow Apple announcing its Healthkit, a system that would also interact with apps and APIs to curate and present health data like steps walked, calories consumed, and heart rates logged.

Fit in turn, comes in the wake of Samsung's Sami, a health platform for culling health-related information.
