Google tops in employee pay satisfaction survey

Google reportedly offers the best pay and benefits to employees, according to a survey by Glassdoor.

The survey used rankings submitted voluntarily by employees at companies and according to The Verge, the tech titan offered an average base salary of $1,28,000 to its engineers while base salaries at companies like Facebook and Micrsoft averaged $1,20,000 and $1,11,000 respectively.

The report added, besides the good pay, the company also offered perks like gourmet meals, luxurious surroundings and stocks among other benefits.

In the survey, employees were asked to rate their satisfaction with their pay on a scale from one to five. Google employees were the most satisfied with a 4.4 score, while Costco came in second, also with an average survey result of 4.4.

According to the survey, cashiers at Costco reported an average of $12 per hour and front end supervisors reported $22 per hour.

Of the top 25 companies, 12 were tech companies, with employees from Facebook, Intuit, Salesforce and Microsoft reporting a high degree of satisfaction with compensation.
