Mumbai: Alopa Networks Inc. (www.alopa.com), a leading provider of fully-integrated broadband subscriber solutions and operational support systems (OSS), has announced that it has introduced the high-powered Alopa MetaSure assurance platform and added it to its technology arsenal. With this introduction, Alopa has strengthened its position as the industry leader in end-to-end subscriber management, workflow, service provisioning and assurance.

Alopa MetaSure complements the strengths inherent in the leading Alopa MetaServ provisioning platform and adds yet more layers of end-to-end system management to build a single assurance platform that takes MSOs through every step of successfully provisioning and managing advanced services and applications. As a platform, Alopa MetaSure works with both Alopa MetaServ and third-party systems. It's further built with the flexibility to handle advanced applications based on DOCSIS 1.1, PacketCable and CableHome specifications.

"By introducing Alopa MetaSure, Alopa Networks is saying we are a serious player with a long-term cable industry strategy. The Alopa MetaSure product is our next step to provide the industry with true answers to the growing IP OSS infrastructure. It builds on our expertise in provisioning and system management and the importance of Internet Protocol (IP) for future data and video applications," says Alopa Networks managing director and vice-president (engineering) Vijaya Verma. "Alopa is committed to provide and drive future services or applications. Through internal development and acquisitions, Alopa will develop the technology to help MSOs support those advanced applications."

Alopa MetaSure will initially support all the assurance capabilities of Alopa MetaServ while adding comprehensive standalone applications such as firmware management. MSOs can do selective and bulk, secured and non-secured firmware upgrades and management while concurrently accounting for inventory. Future Alopa MetaSure applications are planned for later this year as part of series of roll-outs that will keep the platform current with — and in many respects ahead of — the industry's applications development curve.

Alopa Networks Inc is a recognised pioneer and leader in the design, development and deployment of infrastructure software solutions for broadband service providers (BSPs) for the activation and management of IP services. The company's award-winning Alopa MetaServ Platform empowers BSPs to deliver on the promise of the Internet while lowering their operating and capital expenses.

Alopa's IP infrastructure solutions help BSPs accelerate time-to-market for new services, while increasing subscriber acquisition. Through participation at CableLabs, tCOMLabs and other standards organisations, Alopa is leading the way in defining solutions for advanced services based on initiatives such as DOCSIS, PacketCable and CableHome. Established in 1999, Alopa Networks is based in Sunnyvale, California, with research and development offices in Bangalore, and field and sales offices worldwide.
