Honda to recall over 1.67 lakh Acura TSX cars in US

Japanese auto giant Honda Motor Co Ltd is recalling 167,255 of its Acura TSX sedans sold in the US between 2004 and 2008, for what it said, to repair a possible fluid leak in the power steering.
Honda said the fluid leak in the power steering could risk fire in the cars under hood.
Honda initiated the recall after a reported fire due to leaking fluid in the 2.4-litte four-cylinder Acura TSX vehicles.
Both Honda and the US safety regulators, however, said that over time power steering hoses might crack, causing leakage.
"Honda is recalling certain model year 2004 through 2008 Acura TSX passenger vehicles manufactured between 25 September 2002 and 13 February 2008," according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) release.
Prolonged high under hood temperatures may cause the power steering hose to deteriorate prematurely and may cause the hose to crack and leak power steering oil.
