Idea Cellular launches two low-cost smartphones to promote 3G

Idea Cellular, the country's fourth-largest service provider by subscribers, has launched two affordable smartphones in the price-sensitive Indian market, aiming to promote 3G services and data usage in the country.
The Aditya Birla group firm will sell the smartphones at Rs5,850 rupees and Rs7,992 rupees, respectively.
Idea will also bundle free data services as an introductory offer, it said in a statement.
As a special introductory offer, Idea is offering data services worth Rs3,500 with Rs259 pack, along with the new 3G smartphones.
Hence, for the smartphone which is priced at Rs5,850, Idea 3G user gets it for a value of just Rs2,609.
Likewise, the handset priced at Rs7,992 has a value of just Rs4,751 for Idea 3G users, thus making them the best buys in their respective segments, it said.
