IndiGo receives APAI award as 'Best Low-Fare Carrier in India for the year 2007'

Low-fare domestic airline, IndiGo, has been recognised as the "Best Low-Fare Carrier in India 2007" by the Air Passengers Association of India (APAI).
APAI conducted a poll amongst its frequent flyers and members at the Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Kochi airports during the period, 15-29 February 2008, and received a response from more than 1600 passengers from these five airports.
Apart from passenger responses, over 400 on-line responses were also received from members of APAI.
The award is based on scores received for six criteria: value for money, punctuality, connectivity, safety, refunds and baggage handling.
Commenting on the award, Bruce Ashby, president and CEO, IndiGo said, "I am absolutely delighted that our efforts to run an affordable, reliable, hassle-free airline have been recognized by the people who matter most – the travelers. This award is special to us because it is the result of an independent vote of the people who are out there flying".
IndiGo received the award at the opening ceremony of the "2nd Civil Aviation Week - Airport & Airline 2008 Expo" at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on 18 March 2008.
The Air Passengers Association of India is India's only national, non-profit organization totally dedicated to the welfare of the air passenger. Over the nineteen years of its existence, the Association has also been playing a very important role in the development of the aviation industry.
IndiGo currently operates 17 aircraft with 118 daily flights connecting 17 destinations, including Agartala, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Vadodara.
IndiGo plans to serve approximately 30 Indian cities, with a fleet of approximately 40 A320s, by 2010.
