iPad2 to open for sale tomorrow

Over a month after the iPad2 launch in the US, Apple has announced the availability of its next-generation tablet in India. The company would make the iPad2 available to the Indian consumer from 29 April.
The cheapest model featuring 16GB storage and minus 3G will be available for Rs29,500, while the top of the line model with 64GB storage and 3G would be available for Rs 46,900.
Apple has preferred to go slow on making iPad and iPhone available across the world. According to the company besides India, iPad 2 would be available in 11 additional countries.
Sources say iPhone4 is expected to be launched in India by service providers like Airtel and Aircel by the end of the month.
Apple came in for much negative comment when it launched original iPad in India nearly nine months after the US launch. Analysts see the latest launch as a sign of the company according strategic importance to the market in India. They add that the pricing is competitive.
Samsung is expected to launch its next generation tablets by the end of May, while Research In Motion, the company that makes PlayBook is also expected to follow suit at the time.
