J&K Bank Q1 net rises 35%

New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Bank (J&K Bank) has recorded a net profit of Rs 97.65 crore for the quarter ended 30 June 2003 — a 35-per cent rise over the Rs 72.30-crore profit in the corresponding period of the previous year.

The operating profit for the quarter ended 30 June 2003 recorded Rs 166.78 crore — a 43.7-per cent jump over the corresponding period of the previous year. The total income of the bank recorded an increase by Rs 66.19 crore to Rs 457.09 crore during the quarter.

The total number of branches and offices as on 30 June 2003 increased to 456 against 443 during the same period last year. The number of computerised branches and offices during the period rose to 336 including those under process against 245 branches of the corresponding date of the previous year, covering over 85 per cent of the business of the bank.
