L&T Construction JV bags Rs1,252-cr Delhi Metro order

A consortium led by L&T Construction, the construction division of engineering and construction major Larsen and Toubro Ltd, has won an order worth Rs1,252 crore from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
The work involves the construction of a tunnel between Shankar Vihar and Hauz Khas and underground stations at Vasant Vihar, Munirka, RK Puram, IIT and Hauz Khas, L&T said in a release.
L&T Construction will execute the work as a joint venture with Shanghai Urban Construction Group. The joint venture partners will design and construct the tunnel, L&T said.
L&T Construction's share in the project is Rs852 crore, the release added.
L&T's buildings and factories division has won a Rs644 crore contract for building a permanent campus for IIT Hyderabad. The scope of works includes construction of engineering blocks, faculty and staff housing, student hostels, dining halls, including ancillary and other associated works.
So far in November, L&T Construction has bagged orders valued over Rs1,496 crore, the release added.
