Land Rover recalls 65,000 SUVs in the US over door latch problem

Land Rover is recalling about 65,000 SUVs in the US because of a software glitch as a result of which the door latches may not close and could open while the vehicle is moving.
The recall is for certain 2013 to 2016 Range Rover and 2014 to 2016 Range Rover Sport models.
In a filing with the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the British automaker, owned by India's Tata Motors, said that the problem is because of a software glitch in the keyless entry system.
The company said it started looking into the problem in October after customer complaints, but no crashes or injuries have been reported.
Dealers will update the keyless entry software at no cost to owners.
The latest recall comes less than six months after the Coventry, UK-based company rtecalled 61,793 Land Rover Range Rover SUVs and Range Rover Sport SUVs over front passenger airbag issue, and 74,648 Land Rover Range Rover SUVs to fix a brake hose problem.
