LG Electronics has launched a limited edition Optimus One smartphone to capture the cricket frenzy of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2011.

Priced at Rs12,990, the limited edition LG LP500 sports a shiny gold World Cup logo etched on it back, to mark the sporting event.

The smartphone runs on Google's Android 2.2 platform and can be upgraded to the latest 2.3 Gingerbread edition OS.

It comes with a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 320x480 resolution, 3.15 MP camera, 2GB memory card and supports GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth v2.1.

LG Optimus One has an automatically synchronised Google account, so once a user logs in to their Google account, it automatically synchronises the mails and other settings for access to Gmail, Gtalk, YouTube, Google Maps and more.

The South Korean electronics major said it would release only 1,000 units of the limited-edition smartphone, which will be available at all leading stores in eight cities across India.
