Maruti launches bookings for Ciaz sedan; may launch Swift Sport

Maruti Suzuki India's dealers today started taking bookings for its new C-class sedan Ciaz on an upfront payment of Rs21,000.
The car will compete with the likes of the Honda City and Hyundai Verna, with the price range of Rs7-8 lakh for the petrol version and Rs8-10 lakh for the diesel model.
The Ciaz is billed as giving a mileage of 26.3 km per litre. It will launched in the festive month of October, when car sales in India traditionally peak.
Meanwhile, a report says that Japanese parent Suzuki's globally popular Swift Sport, seen at 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, is likely to be introduced in the Indian market.
The Swift hatchback has been popular in India since its launch almost 10 years back; but for some reason the company has not introduced its performance version into the market.
However, Maruti Suzuki has not made any official announcement of the launch of Swift Sport.
